The Rulings of Pledge and Its Content
What is the ruling on a pledge, and what is its correct form? Is it permissible to pledge a house that I own to someone in exchange for a sum of money for a year, and after the period ends, I return the money to its owner, and he returns my house to me? Is it permissible for him to give me a sum of money as a price for using my house during that period?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The pledge is to guarantee rights, and it is not permissible for the pledgee to use it, nor to rent it out, and God knows best.
