The Ruling on Zakat in Cooperative Fund Assets
My brothers, my cousins, my children, and their children and I have created a fund to fulfill the duty of condolence if anyone in the group is in need. Is there Zakat on this money, knowing that we established it six years ago?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: There is no zakat due on this wealth; because it is no longer owned by any one of you, and God knows best.
