Question
A grandfather is a guardian of the wealth of his deceased son's daughter. Is it permissible to pay zakat from this wealth? And if he pays the zakat, is it permissible for him to take from it, as the orphan lives with him, and there is no one to support her, nor does she have anyone to assist her, or should he give it to one of his poor relatives?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: This money belongs to the minor, and there is no zakat on the money of a minor, and God knows best.
