The Ruling on What is Called Negative Energy

Question
What is the validity of the statement that it is necessary not to place items under beds or hang clothes in the bathroom because this generates negative energy, and is there anything like this mentioned about the Prophet (peace be upon him)?
Answer
First: It is mentioned in the "Kuwaiti Jurisprudence Encyclopedia": "Most of the places where jinn reside are places of sins and impurities, such as bathrooms, toilets, garbage dumps, and refuse sites. From Zayd ibn Arqam, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'These toilets are attended by jinn, so when one of you goes to the toilet, let him say: O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the male and female devils.' This is found in the Sunan of Abu Dawood. The term 'attended' refers to the presence of jinn and devils, and there are narrations prohibiting prayer in these places." Secondly: Hanging clothes in bathrooms has nothing to do with that, so it is not disliked to hang clothes there for the reason mentioned. As for the influence of devils and their harm, it has no relation to the clothes or hanging them in any way. It is merely a baseless claim and a superstition that spreads among people. As for the validity of what is called negative energy, there is no evidence for this energy from revelation, nor is there any material evidence for its existence. Rather, it is just conjectures and illusions of ancient people, and their contemporary followers try, through deception and manipulation, to establish a semblance of its existence. And Allah knows best.
