The Ruling on Visiting Jerusalem Under the Occupying State's Sovereignty

Question
Some scholars prohibit visiting Jerusalem because the visit requires a stamp on documents from the Israeli embassy. Is this correct, and is it permissible for us to pay our Zakat to fundraising campaigns for Jerusalem?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is recommended to visit Jerusalem, and in visiting it, there is support for the people of Jerusalem and the realization of a great benefit for Muslims with little benefit for the occupier. We must abandon this fatwa against visiting; because it isolates Al-Aqsa and weakens it. We should send our children to Al-Aqsa to keep the issue alive in their hearts. Paying zakat money is only permissible for the poor, so if there are poor people among those who go, it is permissible. And God knows best.
