The Ruling on Transitioning from the Shafi'i School to the Hanafi School Regarding the Issue of Postpartum Bleeding
A woman has given birth multiple times, and her postpartum bleeding lasted for sixty days, during which she left off prayer and fasting according to the Shafi'i school. Then she learned that postpartum bleeding according to the Hanafi school is forty days. What should she do, and should she make up the missed prayers and fasting? Or is she considered to follow the Shafi'i school regarding postpartum bleeding?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: As long as your action aligns with a jurisprudential school from the four schools, there is no harm upon you, and you are not required to make up for it, and God knows best.
