The Ruling on the Zakat of a Child
Is there Zakat on what children (5-9 years old) collect from Eid gifts with their mother? And what is the threshold for Zakat in this case?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is only obligatory for those who have reached maturity, and it is only obligatory on wealth that has reached the nisab, which is (100) grams of gold, and God knows best.
