The Ruling on the Repentance of the Adulterer in Our Time

Question
Is the repentance of a married adulterer accepted if no one knows of his act, and he repents, regrets, and returns to God without being punished? In the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), punishment was carried out on the adulterer even if he repented. Should he disclose what he did and face punishment, or should he conceal himself and is sincere repentance sufficient?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is better for him not to inform anyone, and to repent to God with a sincere repentance such that he does not return, and to regret his actions, and to continue seeking forgiveness and giving charity until God forgives him, and God knows best.
