The Ruling on the Imam Abandoning the Qunoot Supplication in Witr
A questioner says that she learned that prostration for forgetfulness is required for one who leaves out the Qunoot supplication, and there is a mosque imam who only recites the Qunoot supplication on the night of the seventeenth of the blessed month of Ramadan. What is the validity of this action?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The obligation of forgetfulness in leaving out the Qunoot is according to the Hanafi school, but it may be different according to other schools, and God knows best.
