The Ruling on the Follower Advancing Before the Imam
Does the follower's prayer become invalid if they advance before the imam? Is it valid if the imam moves forward half a meter in one movement?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The prayer of the follower is invalidated if he physically moves away from the imam, unlike if he precedes the imam in performing a pillar and then the imam catches up with him in it, in which case it is not invalidated. The prayer of the imam is not invalidated by moving less than three steps during the prayer, and God knows best.
