The Ruling on the Concurrence of Friday Prayer and Eid Prayer
Is it not correct to compare the invalidity of Friday Prayer if we do not perform the Eid Prayer, as it is obligatory, just as the ruling is on the invalidity of the Fajr Prayer for one who neglects the Witr? How can an obligatory duty be invalidated?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: this is a faulty analogy; because the obligation of the Witr prayer is different in its strength from the obligation of the Eid prayer, and because the Witr prayer is time-bound like the time-specific prayers, unlike the Eid prayer which is different, as it is specific to the Eid.
