The Ruling on Swearing on the Holy Quran with a False Oath
A woman lives in Sudan, where the government provides citizens with homes on an installment basis, on the condition that the citizen swears on the Quran that they do not own a house or a piece of land. However, this woman's husband owns a piece of land and has sworn an oath. Indeed, he was given a house, but his excuse is that he wants to gift this house to his wife. Is he sinful for his action? Is this house considered lawful or unlawful?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: This is deceit and lies, and it is not permissible according to Sharia. He must remove the house from his ownership; because it is his ownership in a corrupt manner, and God knows best.
