The Ruling on Swearing During Anger
A woman swore on the Quran one day not to do household chores, and she was very angry. When she calmed down, she returned to her usual tasks. Is this considered a frivolous oath, or does she have to make expiation? What are the consequences for her?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This is a binding oath, and it requires an expiation of the oath by paying twenty dinars to ten needy people, and God knows best.
