A young man approached me some time ago, and we were given a period for acquaintance. During this period, a problem occurred, and I said at that time: I do not want him, and it is forbidden for me like my brothers. After that, he returned and apologized, and we decided to get engaged. What is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: You are required to offer a expiation for your oath; by saying: It is forbidden for me like my brothers. If you possess the equivalent of feeding ten needy people, which is approximately 20 Jordanian dinars, and if you do not possess this amount, you are required to fast for three consecutive days, and God knows best.
