The Ruling on Singing and Ceremonies at Weddings
How can we achieve an Islamic wedding without violations in singing? Is the rhythm present in the anthems not permissible? What is the validity of the prohibition on clapping, ululations, and dancing? Is it permissible for the groom to enter to see his bride in front of the women?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Singing is permissible if it does not contain anything immoral, and anthems, clapping, ululations, and dancing are permissible, but they should avoid music. The use of the daf (a type of drum) and the drum is allowed, and it is not permissible for the groom to enter to see the bride in front of the women due to the many immoralities and prohibitions involved.
