The Ruling on Shortening and Combining Prayers While Traveling
Is it permissible to combine prayers while traveling, such as combining Dhuhr with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha? Is the combination done by bringing the prayers forward or delaying them, or is it just shortening without combining? If so, when should the prayers be combined?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The combining of prayers during travel between Dhuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha, is a matter of difference, and there is flexibility in it, and God knows best.
