The Ruling on Separating the Obligatory Prayer and the Sunnah with a Long Interval
Is it permissible not to pray the obligatory and Sunnah prayers consecutively, meaning to have a gap between them?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is preferable to pray the Sunnah immediately after the obligatory prayer before performing the remembrances; so that we do not become preoccupied with them and miss the prayer, thus losing its reward and merit. It is permissible to pray it after the obligatory prayer with some time in between, and God knows best.
