The Ruling on Retaining Semen
Does retaining semen necessitate a ritual bath (ghusl)? What is the ruling on retaining it? Does it require a ritual bath?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The separation of semen from the backbone necessitates a full ablution, even if it does not separate from the penis, according to the opinion of Abu Hanifa and Muhammad. For necessity, it is permissible to follow the opinion of Abu Yusuf regarding the non-obligation of ablution. And God knows best.
