The Ruling on Requesting Divorce from a Smoking Husband
Is it permissible for a woman to request a divorce from her husband due to smoking, knowing that they have been married for nearly twenty years?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: Smoking is a sin, and its perpetrator is sinful. Not every sin committed by the husband gives the wife the right to request divorce because of it, and smoking is one of them. And God knows best.
