The Ruling on Repentance for Believing in Superstitions about Revealing the Future
A lady in the past believed that those who believe in fortune-telling are disbelievers, yet she practiced it; because she was not aware of the meanings of disbelief and faith, even though she maintained her prayers and fasting. What is the ruling on what she did in the past, and what is the ruling on her acts of worship?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: She committed a great sin, and she must repent and seek forgiveness. We ask Allah, the Exalted, that her worship is accepted, as she did not disbelieve due to her ignorance, and Allah knows best.
