The Ruling on Prostration of Gratitude and What is Said in It
What is the ruling on prostration of gratitude without a reason for someone who is accustomed to it? And what is said in it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The first form of prostration of gratitude is to pray two rak'ahs for the sake of Allah, the Exalted; because there is a disagreement regarding the validity of the prostration of gratitude. Abu Hanifa did not permit it, although many scholars of the Hanafi school permitted it, and Allah knows best.
