Question
A mother of four daughters was praying for Allah to grant her a male child, and she learned from the doctor that her pregnancy is female. Is she sinful if she continues to pray for a male child?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Matters are in the hands of God Almighty, and there is no prohibition on supplication, nor is there any sin in it, provided that it is not a complaint against God's decree. It is preferable to submit one's affairs to God and to be content with His decree. And God knows best.
