The Ruling on Paying Zakat to a Corrupt Person
Is it permissible to give zakat money to a man who spends his salary on buying cigarettes, gambling, and drinking alcohol?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If he is poor and does not own the nisab of zakat, it is preferable to give it to someone who is more deserving, and God knows best.
