The Ruling on Omitting the First Tashahhud in the Maghrib Prayer

Question
What is the ruling on omitting the first Tashahhud in the Maghrib prayer, whether the person praying is alone or with a congregation?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The first Tashahhud is obligatory, so whoever leaves it must perform the prostration of forgetfulness if he is alone or an imam, and if he is a follower, he does not prostrate; because the imam is responsible, and God knows best.
