The Ruling on Mixing Raisins with Dates

Question
Is there a hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, that prohibits mixing raisins and dates at the same time?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This prohibition was at a certain time due to hardship, and it is no longer forbidden as the cause, which is hardship, has ceased. The prohibition regarding mixing two types of food is mentioned, such as mixing dates and raisins so that they become like a single dish; this is due to the authentic hadith that prohibits mixtures, narrated by Abu Sa'id. In the hadith of Abu Qatada, it is prohibited to combine dates and raisins, and in the hadith of Jabir, it is about raisins and dates, and fresh dates and ripe dates. Al-Ayni said in "Umdat al-Qari" explaining Sahih al-Bukhari 21: 183: The reason for this is either the expectation of intoxication from mixing, or the certainty of intoxication from consuming too much, or extravagance and greed. The reasoning regarding extravagance is clarified in the hadith that prohibits the recitation of the Qur'an while eating dates. Now, if two dates are of the same type, how about when there are multiple types? And God knows best.
