The Ruling on Messages That Include an Oath to Forward
I often receive messages in the form: Send this prayer to ten people, or repeat the prayer for healing, and if you don't, something bad will happen to you, or God will not forgive you, or I urge you by God to send the message to so-and-so.... and others. Is this correct? What is the legal opinion on this matter?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: this oath has no significance, nor value in Sharia, and you should not publish it because it is a habit that carries a deviant thought, and God knows best.
