Question
What is the ruling on the Mawlid that people hold in commemoration of the Prophet's birthday or in celebration of a blessing they have received, or for occasions like graduation or success, etc., which consists of a feast preceded by praises of the Prophet and hymns, followed by sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), and then serving food and sweets?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: All that I have mentioned of matters is considered among the good deeds, and a person will be rewarded for similar acts, so they should not be prohibited, except if they contain forbidden elements. And God knows best.
