The Ruling on Marrying the Mother of the Wife of the Father
What is the ruling on marrying the mother of the wife of the father? Does she fall under the permanent prohibition?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to marry the mother of the stepmother; because she is a stranger to you, as mentioned in Ibn Abidin's commentary 3/31, and God knows best.
