The Ruling on Invalid Purity
I read in the books of the Hanafis that there is a valid purity, and its minimum is fifteen days, and an invalid purity is less than that. Does this mean that invalid purity does not prevent fasting and prayer, or does it prevent them because it is invalid?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: A new menstruation does not begin except after fifteen days have passed; otherwise, it is the blood of istihada, and she prays and fasts. And God knows best.
