A man divorced his wife and wanted to take her back, but she refused. He said to her: 'You are forbidden to me now, and I want to rape you,' and he raped her during the day in Ramadan while she was fasting. He sent her back to her family, and she has been with them for about five months since then. What is the ruling on this?

I say, and with God's help: Intercourse during Ramadan is a great sin and it requires a expiation for the act of intercourse. There is no expiation on the woman because she is coerced into it, and he is considered to be returning to her because of this intercourse; she is his wife, and God knows best.
