The Ruling on Inherited Property That Has Not Been Zakat

Question
A person bought goods but was unable to sell any of them. Years after his death, his children managed to sell small quantities of them online. Do they owe zakat on what they sell, knowing that no zakat was paid on these goods during the storage period?
Answer

I say, and with God's success: There is no zakat on it after the inheritance of the children, and God knows best.
