Question
My brother's job is on the borders, and he shoots at everything that passes by. Sometimes livestock passes by, and he shoots at them. Is this considered lawful hunting? And if it is considered hunting, is their meat permissible to eat? Please answer in detail.
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If what he has caught is from game animals like deer and others, then it is considered hunting. However, if it is from non-game animals like domestic goats, it is not permissible to eat it unless he slaughters it before its death. And God knows best.
