The Ruling on Hesitation in Intention for the Sacrifice

Question
Is it permissible to hesitate in the intention for the sacrifice, by intending to slaughter and then retracting that intention until deciding at the last moment to slaughter?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you possess the threshold for the obligation of zakat, which is 100 grams in excess of your essential needs, then you must perform the sacrifice. If you do not possess that, it is only obligatory upon you if you purchase a sheep with the intention of sacrificing it, and thus there is no need for the question you mentioned. And God knows best.
