The Ruling on Gold Prospecting
I would like you to clarify the fatwa regarding gold prospecting. Is this not public money that only the ruler has the right to permit, prohibit, and regulate? Hasn't he forbidden and prohibited it? Yet, people use tricks to engage in it, thinking it is permissible and allowed. Is this considered theft or permissible?

I say, and with God's help: Gold in the belly of the earth is not considered public money, and it has its own rulings in the category of treasure in the Book of Zakat, which you can refer to. And God knows best.
