The Ruling on Giving Zakat to Needy Students of Knowledge
Is it permissible to give Zakat to a needy student of knowledge by covering their expenses with the intention of Zakat, or by giving them the amount and the student pays it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible to give zakat to a student of knowledge, whether it is given to him personally or paid on his behalf to the university, and God knows best.
