The Ruling on Giving Zakat to a Woman Whose Husband Does Not Spend on Her
Is it permissible to give zakat to a married woman, knowing that she has a husband who provides for her basic expenses, but does not give her a personal allowance, nor does he buy her a phone card, for example, or other women's needs, nor even medical expenses?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to give zakat to a poor woman even if her husband is wealthy, and God knows best.
