Question
Is it permissible for a mother who owns a piece of land to give it to her daughters without her sons?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is recommended by Sharia to treat the children equally in gifts; for equality has an effect in alleviating grudges among them. If there is no justification for the mother, such as a special need for the daughters over the sons due to extreme poverty or illness, then she must divide among them equally, and God knows best.
