The Ruling on Giving Charity from Usurious Money Without the Owner's Knowledge
A woman whose father's money has been mixed with usury, but he refuses to remove it due to his ignorance, is it permissible for her to remove it without his knowledge? Is it obligatory to remove this money despite their need for it? Is it permissible to pay off her debt or the debt of others with it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible for her to dispose of it without the father's knowledge, and the father is religiously obligated to get rid of this money, to remove it, and to give it in charity; because it is ill-gotten gains, and it is not permissible to benefit from it, nor to pay off debts with it, but rather it should be used for the interests of Muslims, and God knows best.
