The Ruling on Donating the Interest Earned from Depositing Money in Usurious Banks
I deposited my money in a usurious bank, which accrues interest on deposits. Is it permissible for me to keep my money in this bank and donate this interest?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If there is no Islamic bank in your country, it is permissible to place money in a traditional (usury) bank, take the interest, and distribute it for good causes, and God knows best.
