Question
Is it permissible to borrow money to buy a sacrifice, or to buy it in installments, knowing that we borrow to purchase household luxuries and we pay most of them in installments?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The sacrifice is not obligatory upon you; because you do not own the threshold for being exempt from zakat, which is 100 grams of gold. However, if you wish to borrow, it is permissible for you, as well as paying in installments, but it is contrary to what is preferable if it causes a burden on you. And God knows best.
