The Ruling on Aqiqah
Is Aqiqah obligatory for both the rich and the poor, or is it waived for the poor? Should it be postponed until financial conditions improve, and then performed even after years?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The 'Aqiqah is not obligatory, but a sacrifice of devotion like other acts of worship, and the obligatory sacrifice is the 'Udhiya for the wealthy. And God knows best.
