Question
A lady collected donations for a needy family, but the family's situation improved, and she was in a difficult financial predicament; so she took the charity for herself. What is the ruling on her action?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: She must give it in charity to other poor families, and it is not permissible for her to take it unless the owners of the donations permit her; because she is a representative to deliver it to others, not for herself, and this is a betrayal of trust. And God knows best.
