The Ruling on Abandoning Arab Identity
What is the ruling on changing Arab nationality to American nationality, and consequently changing the Arabic name to a foreign name?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: Such actions are disliked, for fear that the person may believe in glorifying something other than Islam as a religion, and God knows best.
