The Ruling on a Husband Leaving the Marital Home
A woman lives with her husband’s father in their house, and she complained about his bad treatment towards her with foul language. She asked her husband to remove him from the house, so the husband moved his father to another residence and lived with him, only coming to the house to take food for himself and his father. The husband threatened the wife with divorce if she asked him to return to live with her in the same house. Is the wife sinful for what she did with her husband’s father? And is the husband sinful for leaving his wife and children?

I say, and with God's guidance: The wife has the right to live in a separate house from her husband's family, and no one from her husband's family should live with her except with her permission. However, she should honor her husband's family to the best of her ability, and the husband should know the legal ruling on this matter, and he should honor his parents without causing harm to his wife.
