Question
What is the ruling on a fasting person who swallowed someone else's saliva?
Answer
He must make up the fast without expiation; because this is something that can be tolerated, and it does not fulfill the complete desire and longing, unlike if he swallowed the saliva of his beloved or friend, in which case he must make up the fast and perform expiation; because one cannot tolerate the saliva of his beloved or friend.
