The Ruling on a Fasting Person Who Ate a Little Salt During Ramadan

Question
What is the ruling on a fasting person who ate a little salt during the day of Ramadan?
Answer

If someone eats a little salt, they must make up the fast and perform expiation. However, if someone eats a large amount of salt all at once, they only need to make up the fast without expiation, provided they are not accustomed to eating it. Refer to Al-Hadiyya Al-‘Ala’iyya, pages 168-169.
