What is the ruling of a fasting person who became ill from wounding themselves?
Answer
He must make expiation along with making up the fast, as if he intentionally ate and drank during the day of Ramadan. Refer to Bada'i' al-Sana'i 2: 102, and the comments of Al-Mardiyyah p168.
