The ruling for someone who broke their fast in Ramadan due to illness and remained ill after Ramadan and then died without making up the fast

Question
What is the ruling for someone who broke their fast in Ramadan due to illness and remained ill after Ramadan and then died without making up the fast?
Answer

Whoever missed fasting in Ramadan due to the excuse of illness or travel and remained ill or traveling until death, will meet Allah without any obligation to make up the fast; because they died before the obligation to make up the fast was upon them. However, if they bequeathed that they should be fed on their behalf, their bequest is valid even though it was not obligatory upon them, and they should be fed from one-third of their wealth; because the validity of the bequest does not depend on its obligation. Refer to: Al-Hadiyah Al-Ala'iyyah p.173, and Bada'i Al-Sana'i 2: 104.
