Question
What is the ruling for a resident who wiped over his socks and then traveled?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If it is before the completion of a day and a night, the traveler's duration is completed. However, after the completion of a day and a night, it is considered: If he is in a state of ritual impurity, he should remove his socks and perform ablution. If he is not in a state of ritual impurity, washing his feet alone is sufficient. Refer to: Tanweer al-Absar, Al-Durr al-Mukhtar, and Rad al-Mukhtar 1: 185, and Al-Hadiyya al-Alaiyya p. 40, and God knows best.
