The Residence of the Incapacitated Widow Outside the Waiting Period

Question
My mother is 77 years old. My father passed away three days ago, and she is ill, making it difficult to leave her alone. My brother lives in a house above us; however, we want to ease the burden on my brother's household. Is it permissible for us to take her every week, for example, to stay with one of her children so they can take turns caring for her? Does she have to observe a waiting period at all?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The waiting period is obligatory for a woman whether she is elderly or young, and it is permissible for her children to take her to their homes to care for her, and this is a matter of necessity that allows her to go out, and God knows best.
